U're kiddn?
Yeah I take all my music serious! Unlike EggyT, I take the artists serious
too, whenever they are serious. I can just say the older music that I
typically enjoy seemingly was more "serious", and the sound-in my
ears-blatantly attest to the fact.
Just stay in the old, and every now and then stick your head out for
something new......(I still dont think that the new music compares with the
old and perhaps it shouldnt even be compared....its like comparing apples
and atoms)

I take it seriously about half of the time. There's a lot of IDM out there
now, and a chunk of artists that fall into the genre don't seem to put
their hearts into it -- they're just 'makin' tracks'. For me, I take it
serious when the artist shows that they have some sort of heart in their
music. Granted, many times it's a subjective difference that's based on my
own opinion, but I think I've been able to do a pretty good job.
I'm not out to separate the artists, mind, simply separate the glut from
the great in my head.
On the other hand, I take the music seriously, but I hardly ever take the
people seriously :D
