Thanks for the vote of confidence.
We're in the audience just like everyone else and chances are that if
you go to a show and don't like something, we're right there with you. I
can remember an overbooked show a couple of years ago that ended up
changing venues right in the middle of the show, I dragged my ass across
town in the rain and still didn't see the act that I went to see and on
top of that got completely sick for a week.
Here's some of the considerations we made in planning the show:
1. Location, while it's uptown it is a theatre which means theatre
seating, I love the fact that people can sit back and enjoy the show.
I'm personally very lazy and am always looking for a place to sit.
2. Time, the show starts at 9 sharp and ends at 2 sharp! We're also
tired of showing up to things and waiting until 2 for something to
start. We're kicking this off immediately and if you show up late well,
just show up early :-) It's also on a holiday weekend so Monday morning
won't be tough.
3. Ages, we specifically picked this venue because it will do 18+, we've
never done an 18+ show before but I get a lot of emails from college
students that are really interested in coming but can never get past the
door.
4. Lineup, The key was to have a hiphop/idm theme but still keep a sense
of diversity about it, I think everyone on the bill has something very
different to offer while at the same time contributing to the overall
picture.
5. Schedule, I hate going to shows where a bunch of people play and you
never have any idea as to who they were. We'll be posting a schedule
around the venue so that you know who's playing.
6. Drink prices, The triad has very good drink prices so you'll be able
to get drunk (if that's your think) without going broke.
The Record Camp motto for shows is simply that everyone have a good time
and enjoy some good music, very often it's not music that you won't
typically get to hear, even in nyc. We're not throwing trance raves
here, it's about the music we love and the music that we invest so much
time and thought into.
I read this list everyday and I always take note of what people say in
regards to shows so hopefully ours can be much more pleasant than the
ones I hear bad things about.
For your pleasure ,and ours too
Adesh

-Hey, more power to you for having the show in the first place
-:D It also
-sounds like you have a good plan for keeping things going

-I'm sure the audience and the performers will appreciate.
-
-Just saying that a lot of larger performances with tons of

-list DON'T have such good planning. More people performing
-usually equals
-more possible problems.
