ack. final round. i've been bashed enough thanks :) i am not going to
post again on this topic as i think i've now had time to compose a
slightly more robust defence and this (albeit usefull) topic is now
exhausted.
ah the thrill of chase etc.

we gave them to the people Rob and Sean wanted them giving to.

i thought it was implied in your arguement as did others.

good point well made. i'm not bothered about people taping it or i
suppose even burning a _personal_ CD-R, i expected that, that's what
you do to a radio broadcast. what i wasn't happy about was people
advertising the fact they are going to distribute CD-R copies on the
list. that's not what we or autechre intended. more to the point it's
_absolutely_ what autechre didn't want. they didn't want the mix held
up as a 'serious' work. so they are very unlikely to do this sort of
thing in the future if this is what happens. this is what bothers me.
i now think was hopelessly naive not to anticipate this, and that this
topic has spiralled way out of control if this sort of post is the
result. sorry for doing it in the first place.

i still feel that now. i would have been the first to tape the aphex
peel sessions if they'd happened.

i didn't order him. i asked him politely, and was grateful that he has
apparently done so.

KILLING MUSIC IS HOME TAPING ;)

oh come on. distant? and like i'm still talking to you? limited
editions have been happening since the beginning of time. when we did
a box set we did it because a) Autechre wanted to do it b) it was
something for fans to 'cherish' (<- for want of a less soppy word.)
i should be more annoyed by your rant than i possibly am. you're
insulting not just me and warp generally but everyone else who works
here Rob, Steve, Nance, Kev, Nick, Em, Chantal and Rachel.

of course not. which is why i never talk strategy. the fact that warp
has a good team and considers all those things is the reason we
survived and can still release and sell records like _Chiastic Slide_
today.

fine. i hope i don't appear to constantly whine. but whilst i remain
on the list i find it difficult not to defend warp. silly, really,
caring about something?
Epilogue (or is that Prologue :) - Sony (Japan) should be broadcasting
