Perhaps this is true for Woodenspoon, but HAB 1 & 2 trade hands for a lot more than $8 these days. Everyone knew that demand for new Aphex material was a lot greater than 500 or even 1000 copies. I know what the market for this kind of material is because my IDM mailbox is clogged with auction announcements for these records. I've already seen Mira Calix selling for inflated prices, too. This limited-edition trainspotting marketing creates a black market.

Actually, I guess I'll just continue to do what I've always done: buy the good records you release, leave the bad ones on the shelf, and tape the ones I have no other access to. I hope this is alright with you.

Perhaps, but any label that gets in this much of a bungle when the real fans of their music make a few free copies of otherwise completely unavailable material needs a bit of perspective. I SUPPORT your copyrights and I would discourage anyone from bootlegging Chiastic Slide. The day when anybody can download, in a few minutes, a perfect, pirated digital copy of any record you release is just around the corner. Maybe in the meantime your time would be best spent cultivating the loyalty and support of the people who really understand and love your music instead of playing copyright gestapo. Miles
