Indies are no better. Remember the Wax Trax releases of 'Virtual State,'
'Artificial Intelligence II,' and 'Azimuth'? How about the Waveform
releases of the HIA albums? Each of those was at least a year after the
UK release. (Although I guess Wax Trax isn't an indie, strictly speaking).
Hell, how about the recent US release of Reload's 'A Collection of Short
Stories'? What's that, four years after the UK release?

Last I heard it wasn't due out in the US until 15 Sept, although I heard
that a loooong time ago and I haven't been record shopping recently so
for all I know it's out now.
One factor you're ignoring is that often the originating label (in this
case, the UK labels) will dictate when their licensee can do a domestic
release. Delays have sometimes been attributed to originating labels not
wanting to undercut their export sales...
