I totally agree with Cosmic. Picasso said that what made something a work of art
was whether it brought a response from people irrespective of whether that
response was complimentary of the work or not. If someone stormed out of the room outraged that was good as at least a response had been achieved.
In the same way if someone is able to enjoy a piece of music that I cannot, what
right is it of mine to take this incredibly olympian attitude and declare them
to be wrong? How can I possibly assume to see the music from their perspective
and judge what they get out of the music to be right or not?
So like Cosmic I don't like to make subjective statements and declare something to be crap etc.
I may say that I don't like something, but if someone else gets something out of it then good for them, it is not my business to say if they are right or wrong.
