Well, since this is an "intelligent" list I'd tend to think that we are
a bit more of a critical bunch. I don't believe I'd be here if I didn't think
that was the case. Sure some people don't explain why they don't like this or
do like that but if you stick around, you'll begin to realize which people
have what taste and why.
I'm sorry but I don't subscribe to the "if you've got nothing positive to say
then don't say it" view. Flame me if you must (expect Pete Ashdown :)
but I think debate is healthy as long as you keep your ego out of it. If
somebody just ripped your favorite artist to bits then maybe it will make you
think... a terrible thing I know... but this is a community and we learn from
each other here. There are things I didn't used to like that I do now and vice
versa. I'd like to think that we're a bit smarter than the "isn't Rave 'til
Dawn great?" mentality and that we're a bit more serious about our music than
the average joe. We've got not only an number of DJs but many musicians as
well. Our taste in music is more specific so we don't swallow things as easily.
Maybe we're going through a bashing stage and maybe next month we'll come full
circle and have a praising stage. Now I'm babbling but I think I've gotten
my point across... somewhere in there.
