I am going to assume that this is relevant to the list...Can anyone recommend a pair of GOOD headphones? I've been investigating the Sony MDR series and wondered if the keen ears on the list preferred anything. Thanksabunch! mj

I've had a pair of Sony MDR-V600's now for about three and a half years and I have to say they are the best pair of headphones I've ever bought or used. They're great for mixing and studio work. We've got some expensive Audio-Tecnica 'phones at the studio where I work, but I still prefer the clarity and dynamic range put out by my 600's. Not to mention the fact that they're damn comfy! \|/ @--out----------*--+what-I-got-in-my-head-you-can't-buy-steal-or-borrow /|\ -Primal Scream --Paul p. I don't know much about the MDR's but I used to have some $75 Sony's that were ok but eventually died. On reccommendation from an audiophile friend I bought some Grado Labs headphones (the cheapest ones are $100 I think) and they blew the Sony's away. I listen to them every night and love how clean the sound is. Peace, Nate Nate Harrison DIGITAL MAGICIAN http://www.globalwise.com/DIGIMAGICIAN/ WWW Authors and Electronic Imaging Specialists

No... I don't think so. Try the Sony D-55. That is the same pair RDJ uses. I friend of mine bought a pair for a heart stopping price but he said that they were excellent. I think they were $150. You can also get the D-11's. Exactly the same pair but not as good as the D-55's. The D-11's are about $50.

well, i've had a great pair of sennheisers for a number of years. picked them up from a dj friend a while back. beautiful sound and very comfortable. tho the cables tend to be a bit frail and need occasional replacement.. they may have improved the design tho since mine where made... e r i k erik@bossanova.com [ http://www.bossanova.com/erik/ ] consumption will fill the void "------------ snog ------------"

list preferred anything. Sennheiser have the best ones. Although they are best known for their microphones. Excelent response and dinamics. They can be found easily, I think. IMHO far better than Sony SWM-"Mission: To reconstruct the sonic landscape in order to preserve imagination We are sound. We are never what you think we are. We love you and want you to join the sound with us." Cheers. Nuno

I've got a pair of Sony MDR V-600 headphones. Over the ear, 40mm drivers. The response is very dynamic, extremely live. In fact I would say that the sound is a little too live to be called realistic, but for electronica that's perfect. I've listened to lots of Sennheisers and while I am sure they're very good (they have a warmer more natural tone), they're just not as exciting to listen to IMHO. Never tried any Grados, evryone raves about'em tho. The bigger the driver the better--There's no replacement for displacement! all for now, magic hands
