I don't know much about the MDR's but I used to have some $75 Sony's that
were ok but eventually died. On reccommendation from an audiophile friend
I bought some Grado Labs headphones (the cheapest ones are $100 I think)
and they blew the Sony's away. I listen to them every night and love how
clean the sound is.
