It's the producer of the tracks !!! They were done in Richard's room but that's it. Even though he's dj'ed with us and done pa's, people still think the tracks are by Richard. Rich is only allowed to record for Rephlex as AFX and Caustic Window. People, either believe the Rephlex version of events or believe NME, we can't be bothered to explain this any more and don't think it matters. btw, Thanks for your kind response to our packaging.

Yeah - like when the NME revealed about the new 'Richard James' EP, under his new 'alias' of Bochum Welt... It's the same sort of NME-shitness that gives rise to errors such as calling Ectomorph 'Ectoplasm' and citing one of Carl Craig's aliases as Atypic. It's just slackness - and these are the supposed techno experts like Ben Willmot writing too...

Well I know it's uncool to care about packaging and stuff ("it's the *music* that matters"), but uncovering a clear sleeve in the record rack with an embossed Rephlex logo stamped on the side is one of lifes true pleasures :) || [CiM] || s.walley@uea.ac.uk || http://www.sys.uea.ac.uk/~u9323899/

The NME make me laugh sometimes. Remember when they said that Daniel Pemberton was one of Orbital? Or that Carl Craig was the "boss of Red Planet records"? :) Brendan Nelson Lost Transmission From Uxbridge

I guess we were supposed to know that. So, what does 'producer' mean here exactly? Better yet, who are you?

'Allowed'? So what you are saying is that RDJ supposedly being 'half' of RePhLeX is entirely misinformation as well? ...because if it was partially run by him, you'd think he would be able to do whatever he wants under whichever alias he so chooses. Does he get a spanking and his tank taken away from him if he releases something on RePhLeX under another pseudonym?

"Can't be bothered"?! What a pompous and uncaring attitude! Of course it matters! Maybe not to you or to RDJ, but maybe we serfs and peons down here in the peasant village would like to know the real story. Is it so much to ask just to answer a few questions? Maybe if you'd answer them here, then they would be processed into a FAQ file and you wouldn't be 'bothered' with them anymore. At least by saying 'read the FAQ' there would at least be a real answer attached. What kind of public releations or promotional department does RePhLeX have anyway. The only things I've ever seen that even resemble information are the best places to go in Cornwall if you're tripping, and a geologist's horoscope. Oh yeah, and how to play a record. Helpful stuff, I gotta admit. So, basically you're going to criticize the people who care enough to purchase and enjoy the music your label puts out because the only 'real' information we get is unfortunately from the yellow-journalistic English press? That's a great idea, business-wise. If RePhLeX didn't represent such a diverse array of innovative music, it wouldn't be around anymore with your attitude. Be nice.

Try harder than this. So flat out, IS BRAD STRYDER AN ALIAS OF RICHARD D. JAMES, AND/OR DOES RDJ HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS RECORD? xelhper. christopher miller evil@ddi.digital.net From insert in "Analogue Bubblebath Vol. 3" lp: "RePhLeX also employs a friendlier attitude to music..." I don't want to sound like I'm posting with my penis here (ie. just arguing cos I think I'm best) but I for one don't think it matters whatsoever who did the music. I'm pleased to see that others don't think it matters and/or are taking steps to discourage people from caring about it. Basically I don't care if other people disagree with me, I'm just pointing out that not everyone thinks like Christopher Miller, so can people avoid saying things like "Of course it matters!". If it's really so obvious that it does matter, try to prove it. For that matter, what's pompous about deciding what you tell people? If you want to know about my life and I don't want to tell you, am I being pompous? Michael PS. Yeah, that "prove it" statement was rhetorical. ______________________________________________________________________________ scrot@sans.vuw.ac.nz (Michael Upton) "Doo doo doo" - Beach Boys ______________________________________________________________________________
