i find your elitist mentality offensive in the extreme. i am no
fan of artists bowing to commercial pressure--but that does not seem to be
your primary concern. instead, you seem worried that the popularization
of your "cool" lifestyle will make it not so cool, and you will be forced
to find somewhere else to scoff from. if you were really dedicated to any
kind of independent thinking you would stop worrying about the poor
unwashed who watch mtv. if you are an intelligent and creative person you
will always have a space of your own (an "underground" or call it what you
will) to enjoy. but perhaps you fear mtv because it is showing you that
you aren't so special after all...
