Just like to let you all know that the other three tracks on mask2 is now upped. Enjoy, and thanks to Emanuel Borsboom for generously donately some of his space. http://users.ica.net/atl5/mask2.html ps. picked up the new squarepusher, 'big loada' ep and the Sabres of Paradise, 'sabresonic' album. The squarepusher is kewl but a bit short for 7 tracks(imho). And just listening to the SOP now, and its very nice. And I was wondering if anyone can tell me which luke vibert ep I should get, the redone or the last ep, 'do unto others' or something like that. Or are they both worth checking out? Thanks!!! AtL-5

This is great..thanks to everyone involved. This is a really good way to give everyone a chance to hear rare music that can no longer be purchased anymore. Anyone want to make some .mp3's of the early black dog ep's or B12 label releases available for us to download? Just hoping... =) T.

I am following the url and all of that but I get no audio when clicking on masks 1-5. I have java, ra, and shockwave. Am I missing a plug in that I need? Netscape usualy tells me when I attempt to download info for which I have no plug in.

MP3s don't stream (ie play as you download). You have to download the entire file onto your computer than use a program like WinAmp to play the mp3. I got my copy of WinAmp (which I think is excellent software btw) from: http://www.intelliworks.net/~duke/mp3zone/utils.htm A lot of other MP3 goodies there also... enjoy, Hess

I looked at this sites and a couple of other MP3 sites and found only PC software. Are there Mac versions out there? steve

I guess it never dawned on me that you might be using a mac. (not that using a mac is a bad thing ;) I am sure there is some software out there somewhere. I did a quick search and came up with: http://macamp.lh.net/main.html I believe that this is by the same people who do WinAmp, so it should be pretty decent software... Hope that works for you, Hess

SoundApp 2.3.1 will play MP3 and most other formats. You can get it from UMich and the usual Mac archives. First, thanks so much to everyone who has offered assistance withthis so far. Now, I am beginning to feel totally incompetent but I downloaded an mp3 player for mac and tried again with the same results. I tried going to a site where there were other mpeg files and I get the same result. When I click on the image or message to download the mpeg, I get a gray screen with horizontal and vertical scroll bars. No download in progress, nothing. I downside my navigator to look at my mpeg player just in case, nothing. I open the window in my mpeg player to see if the file downloaded miraculously fast but of course it did not. No audio and no files. What could I be doing wrong? Has anyone experienced anything remotely similar to this? I am using a fast modem, a 200 mhz mac, 48 megs of ram and the most recent Netscape. I really am confused by this. steve

Just because you have an MP3 player doesn't mean Netscape is going to know what to do with it. The simplest thing to do is hold down option and click on the link to the MP3 file. That'll force Navigator (Communicator or whatever) to download the file in a seperate window and save it as a file, rather than trying to process it within the program. After the download is complete, drop the file on the MP3 player. Yay. Happy happy, joy joy. Erm... mp3 is probably the most platform-independant format of them all, because it's an open format. There are several good mpeg3 players for unix, and most of them support streaming; them best of them, IMHO, is mpg123.
