Yeah, I'll call >it IDM >there's some 'rock' tracks (like 3) but the rest of it defintely would fit >in with >'idm' tracks. I you like Tortoise/Rome style music, this a definite pick up.
let me just say that i hate tortoise, "post-rock" or whatever, etc... to say i was skeptical when someone told me i should listen to the new trans am would be an understatement forget the rock songs, the rest of this lp (makes up more than half if i remember correctly) is pure, 808-driven, melodic and nostalgic electronica ... that is to say, it's very good indeed the fact that indie-rock people are loving this is very confusing, but don't let it put you off (this sounds snobby i know, but an indie-rock association tends to make some of us skeptical) there's even a wicked afx-y distorted track! jason goodbye

Yeah, I don't know if the first track is conscious homage or not, but it starts amazingly like Kraftwerk's 'Neon Lights'. transmission from the pHinnWeb Bunker over, ekku the maintainer of pHinnWeb - everything u ever wanted to know about Finnish electronica scene but were too afraid of the reindeer trerra@uta.fi | http://www.uta.fi/~trerra | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb
