let me just say that i hate tortoise, "post-rock" or whatever, etc... to say i was skeptical when someone told me i should listen to the new trans am would be an understatement forget the rock songs, the rest of this lp (makes up more than half if i remember correctly) is pure, 808-driven, melodic and nostalgic electronica ... that is to say, it's very good indeed the fact that indie-rock people are loving this is very confusing, but don't let it put you off (this sounds snobby i know, but an indie-rock association tends to make some of us skeptical) there's even a wicked afx-y distorted track! jason goodbye
