And so we come full circle. Kind of a rarity around here and a pleasure to witness. StaticBeats DJ Justes Mix Sessions has been the #1 Jungle station on Live365 for the past 5 years - http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?genre=jungle. Most of the mixes are from the late 90's and early 2000 when I was really into jungle and DnB. Some are available for sale at BBB but all of them can be heard on L365 for free.</bsp> Perhaps jungle has progressed so little over the past few years that even mixes from 1998 sound like they were made today. Where has the music gone since then? Not very far... Some of the US labels like Breakbeat Science have put out terrific releases by artists like Klute and the SF bay area has a few diamonds in the rough like DJ Abstract who consistently releases outstanding and innovative music. I stopped buying jungle a while back and have one last uncompleted mix I was working on but the music just doesn't excite me anymore. I've tried to approach my mixes from different angles to keep it fresh but over the years the sound has all but ceased its evolution. The last jungle album that excited me was Venetian Snares "Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett" and I'd consider that more IDM than DnB. The last live jungle act I saw was Roni Size and that was great. That was over 4 years ago though.. A ramble perhaps. But I empathize with the original poster as I used to be hugely into DnB/Jungle for a number of years and I've all but given up on it for lack of anything new.
