Word, and to me Tech Itch, Total Science, Hazard, the Ganja stuff is the
same old dnb which is what the guy was tired of listening to.

I don't think anybody in general does, but where the boundaries
of the genre are drawn is somewhat arbitrary. Especially
if you compare the new evol intent, spor, tech itch stuff with
some of the stuff on meathole... you have to use a criteria
other than the sounds to say they aren't the same genre.
