Are you certain that we're talking about the same sample? That to which I
refer is a cut-up vocal saying something like (it's edited/pasted, so hard
to hear) "Can't you give up/no no no/ You can't-uh" spliced together. It
doesn't say that, but it's about the only way I can describe it
phonetically. I'm not referencing the person who sang the line "I'm For
Real" (which is sampled later in the song by NoW), but rather that very
first sample which appears in the song on the Warp 10+ series (the 2nd
vol.). It may be Robert Owens' voice (but if it is, it sounds a WHOLE lot
like a woman), but wherever it comes from, it was not sold under his name
as the artist in question who did the work wherein the sample
originated..of that I am most certain. This was a popular item amongst
those-with-odd-hair in its time (early 80s, I'd say). The mix from which it
came was a Tony Mansfield styled thing, whether or not he did it (Tony did
a lot of good remixing back then). Thanks for the reply, though :-)
