A personal favorite-- Everything (Demon Guitar Mix) by Moog, found on the Millennium Grooves comp on Dust2Dust a few years back... I've been playing the Pete Shelley track on the Can remix comp a lot lately... Cheers John

He's written more than his share of bonafide Techno classics. But Landcruising made my skin crawl. Guitar & Techno just don't mix, unless it's done really, really well, like on Scoobs In Columbia. Most attempts just leave me sick to my stomach (no, I'm not exaggerating), including Landcruising. Of course, your mileage may vary. I tend to be pretty reactionary with my likes & dislikes. Cybotron - "Techno City" (1984) IMO defines the original spirit of techno: moody, synthetic, thematic dance music with extended instrumental passages and soulful yet otherworldly vocals. It quite prominently uses guitar.. not exceptionally well, but without it the song would have a completely different feel. Other examples out there? FSOL: Dead Cities--lots of wah guitar, Muziq, same Psychedelic Research Labs has several acoustic guitar oriented tracks. 777 Plenty more, no doubt. Two or three tracks from the self-titled Porter Ricks disc on Mille Plateaux have really odd guitar parts that don't work that well. One of them even sounds similar to "Welcome to the Jungle." Also, the mu-Ziq track on the Empathy Box remixes has gitar (sic) on it.

Check System 7's "Saturn" on, oh what was it, the Fire album. Hillage, as well as Fripp (FFWD), focus on guitar for much of their music. laz Nicholas Clarke wrote:
