FSOL: Dead Cities--lots of wah guitar, Muziq, same Psychedelic Research Labs has several acoustic guitar oriented tracks. 777 Plenty more, no doubt. Guitars can add much to any electronica, as they are great tools, if used well. -----Original Message----- From: mike@hyperreal.org [mailto:mike@hyperreal.org] Sent: Monday, April 19, 1999 12:01 PM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: (idm) Guitars in techno (was Re: Carl Craig) Che wrote:

My mileage varies. Cybotron - "Techno City" (1984) IMO defines the original spirit of techno: moody, synthetic, thematic dance music with extended instrumental passages and soulful yet otherworldly vocals. It quite prominently uses guitar.. not exceptionally well, but without it the song would have a completely different feel. Other examples out there? I can think of a couple of techno tracks that use acoustic guitar loops to great effect. -M.
