Can someone fill me in on this please? Saw the video and thought it was pleasant . . .wondering if the whole CD is in a similar vein . . . is the guy in the video Cornelius? What's his background? Also, anyone know about a project called 187 Lockdown? Thanks, 337is

Keigo Oyamada, tokyo resident. born about 25 years ago. released several records with the band 'Flipper's Guitar'. at age 21 he produced pizzicato five's 'Bossa Nova 2001' one of their best albums. as Cornelius he's released 4 albums (not very sure). all of them are a perverted view of the world of a rock star. Cornelius is also the owner of super cute japanese indie label 'Trattoria'. They have a web site, etc etc (easy to find with any search engine). i don't know which video u've seen but it's probably 'Starfruit surfriders'. no, not the rest of the cd is like that. there are more poppier parts and others with more guitars, but the wickedness is the same. i don't know if Cornelius appears on the video but probably he does (remember, he's a rock star :P ). as a curiosity, that single was released in japan last summer in a special 2x12" format. One with Starfruit and the other with Surfriders. U had u play them on two turntables with a mixing desk to get the whole song... that's all!! Jose C. Almost every review I've read has referred to him as a "Japanese Beck." His album is supposed to be enormously cut and paste and a whole lot of fun, with some My Bloody Valentine influences, but mostly just his own creativity bursting at the seams (and not always cohering, but what would you expect from an album like that?)
