There isn't too much out in Indy, my sister lives there, so I've tried to do a bit of CD shopping there myself. There is one store, however, in Carmel, IN close to the Keystone at the Crossing mall called Luna Music. They carry a pretty decent amount of Warp, Rephlex, MoWax, Clear, Ninja Tune type stuff. Also carry a good amount of British indie (4AD, Duophonic, Creation etc.) I don't think you'll find anything severely underground there, but they're definitely worth checking out. Maybe too late, but Missing Link on Broad Ripple (pronounced "broaderpul" with an accent on the first syllable) used to be a required visit whenever I had to drive through Indianapolis. Their stock wasn't unbelievable or anything, but they had a reasonable selection of psych and an alert music fan could always pick up a few rarities for non-inflated prices. Since those times, I believe Jade Hubertz (who I think runs the Or label and seemed to be responsible for bringing in the interesting records) has parted ways with his business partner, packing up all of said records and going mail-order only. You might be able to catch him at the semi-annual WFMU record fair, where he usually brings out a crop of records, including such C-list items as every Jane record from the late 70s. Deep apologies to those for whom the above holds no meaning whatsoever. -rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
