I feel like taking MFR into defense here... I've ordered with him 3 times, and although the last order took a while to get here (I was recieving emails during the whole process) everything worked out just grand. I can't comment on your specific case, and if this is what really happened, I must say I'm quite surprised, Stuart is a stand-up guy and the Stuart I've been dealing with wouldn't act like this... Just to show how nice my experience was... I (and a couple of friends) ordered this:

I don't want you to expect to recieve anything just because you order with MFR, but this quite shows that if something is late, or something which he claims was available wasn't, he makes it up to you. He sent the records whenever he got em in, no extra postage charges. And the prices aren't exactly bad... I've yet to find any cheaper ones.

The only thing I've experieced similar to this was that my Freeform 12" came without a sleeve... But HOWEVER, they don't really grow on trees so WTF. Otherwise anything of this hasn't happened to me. The only thing that bothers me really is that MFR can be quite slow on emails... But then again, that's nothing really unique... I bet that there's a lot of people with similar experiences of MFR/4thWorld out there... I feel I have to mention my good experiences here also (though I've heard Puckered1's experience and can understand frustration) I've dealt with Stu a few times and nothing but good. Good prices, fairly timely arrival (never much longer than anything else coming from out of the states) and nothing but emails between... I personally have $80-90 worth of stuff out there coming (the mAs catalog and the new freeform) and I sent *cash*... but I honestly believe that Stu wouldn't try and dick any of us around and if something unintentionally did get screwed, believe he'd do what he could to make it right... but maybe there's alot going on that the majority of us have no idea about or something... anyways, hate to see a guy whose hooked me up with good stuffs get shot down, thats my $.02... guess I'll be pissed too if I didn't get my stuff or it arrived fucked... anyways... I have to second the defense of Stuart & mfr (the mail order formely known as 4 World). I've ordered from him a bunch of times and haven't really had a problem. It usually takes a month or so before I get the stuff in but I chalk that up to him being in Scotland and me in New Jersey. And if it's any consolation my Musik Aus Strom records do have layer of crap on 'em but it's not as if they can't be wiped off. Plus they have cool new cardboard sleeves. It's just the luck of the draw! I sell stuff... I'm slow at times, I've had a few people unhappy with my mailing or product... shit happenes... the postal system happens... the domestic release comes out after I sell the import happens... the crushed case happens... but the quality I received just seemed so BLATANT! (which I was half compensated for) my only point is that I wish you GOOD LUCK with your dealings, because it doesn't seem like he cares one way or the other, as long as he can make up for it in a way that really doesn't equal the initial situation! All I wanted were brand-new records and CD's. Is that too much to ask? I'm not complaining about the time length it took, because I was wanting to WAIT for the Musik Aus Strom releases... but it's the multiple excuses for the quality of what I received. that's all. I'm sure there are always going to be 1,000 happy customers and 5 unhappy... I'm just telling my situation. GOOD LUCK!

cardboard dust doesn't carve thin scratches in a concentrated area! plus, you can't speak for anything since you haven't done an order with him AFTER his partners took off. circumstances change the way people do things!!!
