I just recently picked this one up... Braincell - Man of Many Theories [Harthouse] This was a true suprise for me, being on the Harthouse label. It seems they are moving away from the more trance related stuff into the areas of minimal and electro! For lovers of Cylon vocoder effects (only on one of the tracks :| ), Jason BPMF, and Spicelab's _Spy vs. Spice_, check this one out. Braincell is Carl Lekebusch. Not much of a review, but you get the general idea. By the way, there are 11 tracks for a total time of 62:48. | E r i c | [mail] franse@engr.arizona.edu | | F r a n s | [web] http://intermix.engr.arizona.edu/~franse |

Harthouse started moving into more downtempo/off the wall (for them) areas a couple of years ago. Check out the stuff by Off and Gone, Soap and Alter Ego, and also the Dark Hearts II comp. I'm sure there's more but I can't remember it off-hand. Oh yeah, the second album by Der Dritte Raum is simply outstanding idm-y/housey trance, light years ahead of his first effort. I haven't heard the new Braincell, but it's funny that an album by Cari L. should also be moving in this direction - his stuff is normally crisp and trancey, i.e. normal Harthouse turf. Ashok
