The Swim Label is the creation of Ex-Wire band member Colin Newman. It features excellent experimental techno artists like Cusp (Vaporspace) & G-Man (LFO) among others. Most of the releases are 12" only. Although a few months ago Swim released a CD of previously released 12"s called Immersion remixes. This CD featured remixes by the likes of Claude Young, Mic Harris, Mark Gage, Scanner & G-Man. I also got a 12" last week called Immersion remixes, vol. 3 which had mixes by Klause Shultz and Cyclob. IMHO I didn't think the Cusp CD was very good though. Definitely the weakest of the Swim releases. -->-Lance--- mclance@en.com

Careful, Lance. The original came from ambient@hyperreal, and you replied to idm@hyperreal (which caused me confusion). :) There's some older Cusp stuff as well. In fact, it may pre-date the Vapourspace material put out by Mark Gage. "Drone Um Futurisma" and "Venusian Atmosphere", both on Probe, sound very familiar to the content of _Themes from Vapourspace_. Thumbs up from me. A bit on the dancy side, though. I have not heard this new release yet. Andrew -- Andrew Bennett abennett@hyperreal.com, abennett@cruzio.com http://taz.hyperreal.com/~abennett/
