Completely off-topic, but I have to mention that I feel that the film was horrible. Have you read the book? The movie pales in comparison. The director, David Cronenberg, seems to have something about wanting to turn difficult books into movies (i.e. Naked Lunch). Just as with that novel, I think it's pretty impossible to get the full effect that the author intended unless you were to use the book as your shooting script. Crash the movie winds up being a film about people doing weird things for no apparent reason, whereas the book is about people doing wierd things for very definate reasons, however implausible they may seem to be. It's no wonder that Ted Turner didn't like it - it's unfortunate that he thinks this way because he was offended, and not because he realized it was a fairly poor piece of film-making.
