I think the most famous usage is the preset sound which you can hear as the lead line in Bomb Scare. It's a pretty played out sound but the CZ is a pretty interesting synth if you actually get into programming the thing (which most people don't much like they don't learn how to actually write original patterns on their 303 they just unplug the batteries and use random patterns...) If you really like FM then go for a Yamaha TX81Z. If you want to stay cheap then go for a Yamaha DX-100. I like both these as well as the Yahama FB-01 better than the CZ-101. The best Casio jem is the FZ-100 (or rack FZ-10M) sampler. For the price it really sounds cool. Mike Paradinas uses one but it's nothing like an FM synth. 100UKP for a CZ-101 is a bit steep IMO. They sell for around $100US in the States. I know the gear in the UK is inflated though so that might be a fair deal in England. Good luck. __ -robert | |___ ____ ____ _____ | |_ \ / -__/ / _/ | _ \ __________ |_____/ \___\ |_| | |__/ / -studio- \ _________________________________ |_| http://icse1.ucsd.edu/~rcurlee/ \
