I read it about a year ago. But ended up buying it last week. It's a really really good book if you're into Black Metal or just interested in it. Crazy crazy happenings in the scene over in Europe. Church burnings, murders, all sorts of crazy crap. Funny, I'm reading Our Band Could Be Your Life right now, and I'm totally captivated. I had been meaning to read it for a while, then picked it up recently to do some research for a Mission of Burma piece I'm working on. I'm really, really impressed with Azerrad's writing. More than anything, I'm filled with nostalgia -- which is funny, because most of the crucial shit in that book takes place before I got into punk. I got into it around 1986, and really missed out on the first wave of American hardcore. Anyway, the chapters on Black Flag, Mission of Burma, and the Minutemen (the greatest lyricists ever) are amazing. What I'd give to see the electronic "scene" take a lesson or two from the Minutemen...
