hi friends,
quoted 3 lines i was checking out the discography at wolf's discography> i was checking out the discography at wolf's discography > site and it claims there are 3 versions of this 12" > can anyone confirm this?
i can ;-) actually there has been some talk about the difference on this very list a millennium ago. otherwise i wouldn't have looked for it in my favourite shop. i did, and voila!
quoted 3 lines wap89> wap89 > wap89x > wap89x(e)
the labels and the cover are absolutely identical. you can tell the version by the scribblings carved in the record near the run-out groove 'WAP 89 XAE-1-1-' the difference is in the ending of 'laughing quarter' (track 3 on cd), after the break around the 6 minute mark. the xa=cd version goes quite straight, whereas the xae version's rhythm has stumbles and hickups and shuffles(?) a little. nothing to lose sleep about. but different anyway.
quoted 2 lines how limited was wap89x(e) ? i can't seem to find it> how limited was wap89x(e) ? i can't seem to find it > anywhere. most sites list on the first 2 for sale
it is not listed of course. no idea what the percentage of xa/xae is. should we do a small survey? please everyone with the XA version send a blank mail to mailto:xa@kompaktkiste.de please everyone with the XA(E) version send a blank mail to mailto:xae@kompaktkiste.de i promise to keep the senders secret ;-) also i'll try to get official permission to upload the significant bit for a while. ciao, wolf. ----://----------------------------------------------------- mailto:wolf@kompaktkiste.de http://www.soliton-records.de/soliton.htm http://www.kompaktkiste.de ----://----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

hi, remember in late july i asked who had which vinyl version of autechre's envane WAP 89 XAE vs. WAP 89 XA. here's now the not-quite-representative result XA: 60,0000% XAE: 40,0000% thanks to the participants so far. i'm still curious how many of which version exist, so please check again and send a mail to me! ciao, wolf. ----://----------------------------------------------------- mailto:wolf@kompaktkiste.de http://www.soliton-records.de/soliton.htm http://www.kompaktkiste.de ----://-----------------------------------------------------

I always order Warp cd through Warp. And I never pick up any cds at stores. I was wondering how many idm fans are like this? How much more do you think Warp sells through stores than through warpmart? On Thu, 27 Sep 2001, Ryan Schilling wrote:

I'm not like that at all. While it may be severely un-idm of me to not purchase music exclusively online, it's the happy accidents that I chance upon in the music stores that keep me coming back.... I found a used copy of Erik B. and Rakim's "Let the rhythm hit em" for $4.99 while picking up the new To Roccoco Rot. That just wouldn't happen online. On Thu, 27 Sep 2001, Brian M. Cass wrote:

I'm pretty sure that CLaro has only come out on 2x12" format in the U.S. I know that S://kimo only has it on vinyl and Amoeba in SF, which always has new Warp stuff, only had the vinyl as well. --- Ryan Schilling <ryanschilling@subdimension.com> wrote:

I go through warp most of the time as well but for the stuff i cant get there I go to Bent Crayon. I feel fortunate to have one of the best IDM record stores in the country within an hour away. Speaking of Claro i ordered my vinyl copy from WARP but it seems to be takeing longer than the shipments usually take after dispatch confirmation. It seems possible international mail could be taking longer due to hightend customs security. Thats my only explaination. I live in a small town, so local stores usually don't carry what I'm looking for. If it weren't for online stores, I'd still be listening to The Flaming Lips and Beck all day. There's one store (Hastings) that gets some odd Force Inc. releases in now and again, a few things from Warp as well. Usually I'll order the things that I really want from Skimo or Bent Crayon, and sometimes I'll find things at Hastings that I wouldn't have bought otherwise (Gez Varley, Kid606 - P.S. You Love Me, etc.). So I guess the moral is be happy you can choose whether to order or buy locally, cuz some people are limited to just ordering. -char _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

just wanted to say hi to the list, being that i'm new here. got wind of this from a crosspost to another list i'm on about the telefon tel aviv show next week in chicago. anyway, thought i'd also throw my 2c into the mix on this thread:
quoted 1 line Has anyone in the U.S. been able to pick up the Brothomstates CD> > > Has anyone in the U.S. been able to pick up the Brothomstates CD
i personally haven't seen the qtio ep or claro, but i haven't looked all that hard for it. for some reason or another, the local borders tends to carry quite a bit of warp, and i know both of those releases are on cdnow.com as well. and forgive me if this has been a part of some long-running thread, but i've been listening to lassi since he was known as dune way back in the day...tracking scene and all. i've actually still got a couple of his chip tunes. always knew the kid would make it someday. np: brothomstates · itch :mz // anonbox · http://posthoc.org/ | http://ecesis.org/ 'if there were two of you, which one would win?' --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
