I need to express two more cents regarding this one: The doorway in is much smaller than the other two albums. But the room is vast......the trick is finding the door. There music seems to be getting less accessible, but just as expansive. ps. Aphex Amb. Works II sounded like nothing when I first got it. Eventually I understood. As for TR, try the background suggestion and let it work on your subconscious. Or maybe you just don't like it :) Rick

People who like this record and would like to hear something like this taken a couple steps further should look into releases on Touch (which sound nothing like Sandoz), Staalplaat, maybe Sub Rosa. Phauss, _GodTPhauss_ on Silent. Hafler Trio. SAW2 does a pretty good job of unusual ambience, but some of this stuff is -really out there- in comparison.

strange happenings... I bought my girlfriend a copy of 'tri repetae' for her birthday, and low and behold the CD did not work in her machine... so I thought dud CD. Brought the CD home and it plays in my CD player! Then took my copy of tri repetae to her house. That does not work in her player either! so... Seriously, some CDs are just kinda slippery on the inside and the spindle will not grab onto them. This happened to me with a few discs on a player where the disc sat upright (i.e. with the label facing the wall instead of the ceiling). Try tilting the cd player or wetting the inside rim of the disc, maybe. einexile, chupacabra slayer

Also, CD players do go out of alignment, and have a hard time syncing up with tracks. It's usually a $50 repair bill to get them aligned. When I ordered my copy of "Amber" from the UK , the CD was seriously warped ... and like only the first 3 tracks worked properly ... I swapped it at a local store , and the guy at the counter said he wanted to keep it as it was the only CD he had ever encountered that had been so obviously warped ...
