No, I don't think so.
quoted 1 line "Elevate the level of breakbeat"???> "Elevate the level of breakbeat"???
You've taken this quote out of context. That fact that he says their new
album won't "lower the level of Orbital" means something too...if he were
slamming breaks he would have said "Orbital is going to go downhill..."
I think his overall message is that Orbital will be giving breaks a lot of
exposure, which is good for breaks, and that Orbital will still sound good.
They may not be like DJ Crystl or Omni Trio (my favorite breaks
artists), but they might incorporate some more intricate, "PHAT" rhthyms
which can only make Orbital better (IMHO).
quoted 2 lines I have had enough of the breakbeat slamming on this list, but hey, we all> I have had enough of the breakbeat slamming on this list, but hey, we all

This is the IDM list so it's not required to be into breaks, but it's also not
good to slam other music (like breaks), but I don't see any of that going on...
I think you're making presumptions, like those who aren't into breaks implies
that they slam them whenever the write a message praising Orbital or whatever...

Again, this is the IDM list, so I don't think people are interested in you
pushing other styles of music here. Just be happy that (like me) you are
pleased with both IDM and breaks...you're worrying too much about someone else
slamming stuff, as if you actually MADE the music... just be happy!

Now who is the one slamming?
No, it's not an inherent thing that breakbeat gets no respect because it's
breakbeat...how silly! Some people like it, some hate it, some are indifferent
and some LOVE it! Quite trying to defend it...it's not needed...breaks get
PLENTY of respect just like most other forms of music.

"They just don't get any respect because they are [Orbital]! Is that right?"
Don't be a hypocrite \/\/Affle. You haven't even HEARD it YET! I don't think
you can be prejudice and credible at the same time.
And there IS not "True hardcore" or "True" ANYTHING! Every song can be
considered like people -- totally individual and different. Hardcore/breakbeat
isn't actually completely innovative. The percussion sounds are either samples
of live drums, drum machines, or both. These sounds are arranged carefully
(using both loops and individual percussion sounds) to create a number of bars
of rhythm...a breakbeat. The only difference between breaks and other music,
therefore, is that the rhythms are very creative, and the tempo is sped up.
The innovation and creativity is there, but it doesn't make it "true" or
better. It's all opinion anyway...quite being so damn pretentious.

Now you're slamming trance... or are you pointing out a "fact" (quoted because
it's a fact in YOUR mind, but actually an opinion). Unless you hear every new
trance track that comes out, I don't think your statement is justified.
Besides, what do you mean by "trance"? Everyone has a different impression and
definition of "trance" and "breakbeat" and whatever! You should elaborate with
YOUR definition, instead of flaunting your impressions... and back up your
claims! Stop acting like Mr. I-know-everything-and-I-am-ALWAYS-right!
If you are right about ambient and trance being in the "mainstream glare," then
the best is yet to come (if they follow the same pattern as breakbeat).

Damn, now you're calling a *LOT* of people stupid. There is nothing wrong
with grooving...in fact, I'd say the groovy house vibe is much friendlier than
the breakbeat phat-phresh-and-coolness vibe.

have you heard the new Orbital? Don't give advice you can't take, hypocrite.

Yes yes YES! OK OK OK! I agree, they are WONDERFUL songs that have so much
emotion and uplifting power... but do I need to repeat myself?
quoted 3 lines Ratty "A Taste of Things To Come EP"> Ratty "A Taste of Things To Come EP"

OK, breaks can be consider dance music, can be considered intelligent (it takes
brains to make tracks like these), and is of course music, but according to the
definition for this list... IDM means something totally different.

Ah, I stand corrected... you aren't slamming trance...
Trance is good, no? That's why breaks are incorporating it into some tracks.
and Breaks are good, that's why I'm buying such GREAT trance records which
have kicking rhythms... but I also like IDM, that's why I'm on this list,
not to read about breaks... that's why there's a BREAKS LIST!
quoted 1 line Oh I could go on and on,> Oh I could go on and on,

I don't think I'm frustrated cause you're posting this crap to IDM...rather,

Well, that makes a lot of sense...
Pffft!! Who said Orbital are doing breaks? Who said they are going to copy?
They said they were "influenced" by pirate radio. They're not TRYING to
make it any better! They're going to create their own style, which I think
will rock the floor! How are they going to "mess up" breakbeat? Geez, like
Subbase and Movin'Shadow are going to fall to pieces because Orbital is
coming out with a newie...
Don't write off Orbital...

Whatever... breakbeat has sampled FSOL out the ass... I think there's even
a break track that's sampled Orbital... "Chime" maybe...
So, don't give us that crap. Orbital has been much more original...they've
lived without breaks until they were influenced. But breaks artists were
always the ones looking to other IDM and trance artists...
