Aspen's "Sugar/Spice" EP (12" vinyl only) release on Emanate

The sixth release for Emanate comes from veteran New Zealand producer
Bevan Smith recording under his Aspen guise. Aspen has received worldwide
acclaim over the past few years for the deep electronica sound featured on
his two albums, "Album" and "Are You That Retail Snob?", and for the
other releases on his own Involve imprint.
On the "Sugar/Spice" EP, Aspen's first release for Emanate, Bevan delivers
6 tracks/28+ minutes of evocative electronica that is both classic and
innovative at the same time. Throughout the entire EP you will be
enveloped by warm melodic synth lines, deep inviting atmospheres, and
dubby basslines accented by slow methodical crunchy percussion. The end
result are six tracks of evocative electronica that are both captivating
audio journeys and adventures at the same time.
Fans of early Aphex Twin, Global Communication, Autechre, Bola will
eagerly welcome this release into their collections as if it were a lost
classic because this EP is indeed a classic with a retro-melodic
electronica sound that's rarely heard these days.
