Mmmm...I don't think it's too far out. The Studio 1 stuff I've got/heard is pretty similar to Maurizio/Basic Channel/etc, which is _extremely_ influenced by the reggae form. The form of minimal techno dub that's on the M label, Basic Channel, Studio One, etc. is one of my favorite styles of music, actually, and the reggae influence plays no small part in that. In my opinion, these are the sort of records that will really stand up over time.
