I have been thinking about this same thing lately and I realized it's a
lot like fine art, where the majority of artists make their living off
their day jobs as graphic designers or working in a museum.
A lot of people consider writing commercials "selling out," but I really
think that as long as you keep it separate from your art, it's much
better than getting a day job at McDonald's. :)
