Didn't see a :) or a ;) to get your "tone of voice" in this email, but, if you are truly serious, Juan Atkins would be the last person you'd want to read your email below. Why? Well, Atkins was one of the original techno innovators and, when asked about the state of techno these days, said that his worry was that people would listen to music such as that in movies like Mortal Kombat and think that that was techno. A lot of people who think they are making techno are simply retreading the rave path of 1990. Listen to hard house, much of it is simply rave music at a slower tempo. People who are listening on a deeper level (like IDM listers, for example) are going way beyond/deeper than the Fatboy Slims, and Chemical Brothers et al, but you have to keep in mind that for people who are more accustomed to listening to Celine Dion, Shania Twain et al, something like Chemical Brothers, to them, *is* techno.
