Glad folks liked the piece. I just have to share that later on Saturday after it was published I got a message from Romulo. He loved the piece and wanted to chat about it. We ended up talking for a long time - longest phone conversation I’ve had since I was dating my current and only wife! - where he talked about the album and the Miami scene. Fascinating to find that a guy from Miami and a guy from Connecticut had so much in common musically! He got me on a massive old school hip hop kick which has currently gotten me listening to all the Time Zone remixes. i have to take the opportunity to re-iterate that of all the IDM ever i think Phoenecia was at the time one of the closest in terms of experimentalism and cutting edge ideas to AE or any other 'big' act, add to that that each album is vastly different from the last and explores entirely new sonic territory. really would have loved to see them keep at it, but i'm sure they have had other things like, life, going on. absolutely genius work tho, all of it.
