}> I wish there were funky IDM fashions!!!
}>
}> Just imagine the possibilities:
}> -Fractal footwear for glitch queens
}> -Sci-fi hologram-chemises for Autechre freaks
}> -Globule gloves for rivetheads
}> -Crystalline coifs for Higher Intelligence Agents
Well, as for the accessory-part...I started a jewelry-line inspired by my
brief circuit-bending foray a few years back called Zelle (re:
"Quantazelle's jewelry"), featuring things like Capacitor Necklaces, Diode
Bracelets, and Cat5-cable necklaces & bracelets (which are a hit over at
Thinkgeek). I wear my own stuff all the time and friends of mine who are
DJs / electronic musicians / programmers have been really into the MIDI
Cuffs and the Cat5 Bracelets. You can check it out at
http://www.zellestyle.com/catalog and
http://www.fractalspin.com.
As for clothing-fashion, I've noticed at IDMish / minimal-techno /
glitchy-etc shows in Chicago & Detroit that the "style" has a spectrum. At
one end it overlaps with the indierawk-hipster thing [Energie?, Adidas,
Gstar,--maybe pick up BPM, XLR8R, Urb, etc and check it out], or the "hip
graphic designer" casual-swankness [French Connection, Diesel, J.Lindeberg]
thing, with the occasional industrial holdover, and then the
somwhere-in-between-those with edgier brands (that I personally dig) like
Nucleostar, Illig, Lithium, Geek Boutique, and some of the grown-up skater
brands like Hurley & Volcom. And then there's always the anti/fashion of
white / black tshirt & jeans [ugh, American App.]. Oh and there is a higher
male-ratio, but you are all probably aware of that already.
My personal style (not representative of all the females) involves more
sleek, edgy Canadian-design stuff [Kitchen Orange, Snug, Bodybag, Fiction]
in black or gray (big fan of Mudshark Streetwear in Toronto). As for shoes
I heart Diesel & Rocket Dog.
So there ya go--not necessarily the definitive fashion guide, but it's what
I've noticed, anyway.

OUT SOON:
VA: Subvaritrax [SUBV002]
SUBVARITRAX is a new form of treatment for Sonic Mediocrity Overexposure
(SMO). SUBVARITRAX works by providing a mix between
emotionally-poignant-yet-sonically-dense IDM, and scientifically
formulated, provocatively glitchy minimal techno. With contributions from
Quench (Funckarma), Ochre, Tim Koch, edIT, Kero, Matthew Mercer and others,
SUBVARITRAX is a new type of neurostimulant proven to help people with SMO
as well as being an enjoyable listen in its own right. Ask your provider if
SUBVARITRAX is right for you.
OUT NOW:
Quantazelle: Coaster [SUBV001]
"...Its a solid, more-than-competent release. The bulk of the 12 tracks
here work straight from the classic Warp playbook, with skittering rhythms
indebted to Amber-era Autechre before the pairs beats went all
algorhythmic on us" -GROOVES
"...The music is exquisitely complex and abstract, with elements of
electronic and acoustic instrumentation constantly set on a collision
course with found sounds and sharp pseudo-industrial beat
structures...superbly unique and creative, yet captivating and
engaging"-THE MILK FACTORY
