well after listening to it a few times i decided to go ahead and buy it really my only complaint with this album is some of the synth patches he uses, they just kind of poke at my ears uncomfortably. however, the rest of it is an amazing work of intricate, insane, twisted electronics, the album really is furious and fast paced, he gives that sequencer a serious warranty-violating workout and leaves it smoking Clint Anderson Systems Engineer

the other thing is, you have to be absolutely sure you dont want a given squarepusher album because if you dont buy it right away, its going to be sold out and youll be shelling out $80-100 for it months later on discogs/etc Clint Anderson Systems Engineer On Fri, Apr 17, 2015 at 11:13 AM, Clint Anderson <clinta@gmail.com> wrote:

Yeah that's a hard one. I picked up a copy of the port rhombus ep for not a lot and it sounds way better than the cd version from the album. But if something isn't classic it's hard to justify the purchase otherwise it'll just sit on the shelf. I heard the vinyl is in reverse order from the digital release. How's that working out for people? On Friday, April 17, 2015, Clint Anderson <clinta@gmail.com> wrote:

my review after having this album for about a week now is that i love it and its only flaw is that its too short very much built off the template of ufabulum but so much denser, contains 0 slack or downtime and is just hitting every tooth of every one of your mental gears as they churn, listening. there are some soaring, epic moments, some moments that seems to be taking the piss out of dubstep and the like, dark and twisted discordant moments, but all of it hurling along very, very fast. if you thought ufabulum was ok but didnt have as much for teeth as the usual squarepusher release, this has fangs aplenty. i just keep playing it over and over :)

the other thing to keep in mind is that SP has released what like 15+ albums? each album is not like a giant monolith demarcating every aspect of his art every couple years each album is just a small part of his whole catalog, 8 ideas here, 13 ideas here, etc really the more i listen to it i cant get how someone could think its dull unless they just plain are mad that its not the album they wanted (i.e., exactly like one of the previous ones) Clint Anderson Systems Engineer On Thu, Apr 30, 2015 at 6:36 AM, CRAIG SIMPSON <craignorms@hotmail.com> wrote:

I totally agree, and the final part with him playing bass was something great, not just a jazz/fusion display of technique as it has been sometimes in the past: I would really love once in a lifetime to see him just playing bass in a small jazz club...jaco pastorius should be proud of him. 2015-05-08 1:07 GMT+02:00 Clint Anderson <clinta@gmail.com>:
