D, are you talking about the world population as a whole, or even the US pop.? Since when did that large of an audience take a micro-sub-mini-genre like IDM into account? Pressing records is still completely valid--if one is aiming at a market that still considers vinyl a supportable medium (most electronic music listeners). The "limitations of the technology" might be exactly why someone chooses to buy the vinyl over equally/lower priced cd format. I mean, why use old synthesizers?--the technology is definitely outdated. Similar argument.
