Read the Wild Sheep Chase, very odd.
Sputnik Sweetheart is excellent too.
If you like his stuff try Iain Banks, his blend of surreality and stuff(tm)
is similar in feel and just as compelling.
Also on another OT japanese note, go to see Battle Royale, it opened today
and is essentially Lord of the Flies with guns. Aces.
