Wind Up Bird Chronicle RULES! Murakami is my big "discovery" this year, his fiction is excellent. I just read South of the Boarder, West of the Sun, almost in one sitting actually (it's only 213 pages). Wind Up Bird Chronicle was stunning. Deliberately paced, very evocative. I can still picture what i thought his neighborhood looked like, what the well looked like... I've actually taken to naming my various tracks after his works too. On the max/msp list a few months ago someone was saying that max/msp is just a "lifestyle" that cycling74 is promoting. (rather than just coding in c, or whatever). In a joking reply, one of the cycling74 coders said that, in part, the lifestyle invovled buying Haruki Murakami books in hardback. So, Murakami seems popular among us then. No?
