All those guys had their own sound, trackermatte seems to pick up on all of AFX's mannerisms -- the slightly-out-of-tune synth melodies, the rubber bass sounds, the drum fills, etc. Not sure it's music I can't live without, but in a world with 50,000 Aphex Twin imitators, he stands out as doing it really well. I'm really fond of Trackermatte's stuff on it's own merit. I was sold the first time I heard Triangular Expander. <https://soundcloud.com/trackermatte/triangular-expander> I get the Aphex comparisons, but Trackermatte has enough different stuff going on that I don't think it's fair to pigeonhole them as an RDJ surrogate.
