Wednesday, July 22nd, 1998 8-10pm - Ryan Lum of Love Spirals Downwards Ryan Lum from Love Spirals Downwards will Guest DJ for an hour on Space Disco For Fish Tacos. He'll be playing a bit off of his forthcoming projekt release "Flux" in addition to some of the music that he draws inspiration from. For more information on Love Spirals Downwards or their three albums on Projekt, visit their website. Look for the LSD track "Nova" on the forthcoming KUCI benefit CD "Loraine." Wednesday, July 29th, 1998 8-10pm - Gearwhore debuts "Drive" Gearwhore's Brian Natonski has chosen KUCI to make the world debut his new Astralwerks album, "Drive." After moving to Orange County a few years ago, he founded Fatal Data recordings, a label who's released not only Gearwhore and Shaheen, but also released the legendary Bassland 12" "Nine/Deeper" and Skylab2000's "Auburn" single. Recently, he's been working on his own material, gaining him a spot on Astralwerk's roster with the single Passion (a KUCI white label classic) and now his first full-length release, "Drive." Look for the rather un-electronic Gearwhore track "Space Disco For Fish Tacos" on the forthcoming KUCI benefit CD "Loraine." Coming Soon - Loraine CD Release party The party will not be held in July as previously noted. The date (mid-late August) and lineup are still under development, more information available soon. Space Disco For Fish Tacos has been on the air just shy of three years, featuring weekly live performances and interviews by electronic musicians from southern California and abroad. Tune in every Wednesday evening from 8-10pm on KUCI 88.9fm, broadcasting at 200 watts to the greater Orange County area. Some past guests have included (In no particular order): Mixmaster Morris, Ben Neill, Uberzone, Electric Skychurch, Bassland, Skylab2000, Mushroom Nation, X-Calibur, Gearwhore, Paxwo, Hive, Surface 10, Variance, THC, Mark Trance's Deep, Cathexis, Sumi, Quadra, Tipsy, Lecanoscope, Control X/Front BC/Liqui-Fly/Mental Blox, Arjuna, Dimension 23, Liquid Mind Warp, Bleu, Entrancing Iris, Phthalocyanine, John Tejada, Robert Rich, Hazel Window, Your Choroid Coat, Low Res, Not Breathing, The Angel, 2 Silver Boxes vs. Scatterbrain, A Produce, Max Vaxx & The Rain People (and the list keeps growing). A bit of Clarification: KUCI Is a closed studio, which means we are not equipped to have an audience, so please don't ask to come down. Exceptions have been few and far between, but due to recent theft problems I will definitely not be allowing people to come down for the show. Whereas nothing has been stolen during my show, I intend to keep it that way. In addition, I am not able to make copies of live performances for listeners. I understand that people out of KUCI's signal want to get a hold of some of the live performances that I have, but those performances are the property of the artist and out of respect for them I cannot make duplications. However, once the signal is released from our transmitter, I have no control over listeners making duplications. -Daniel 9-5SuperSpy@kuci.org ============================================================================== Listen to "Space Disco for Fish Tacos", KUCI 88.9fm Wednesdays 8-10pm Space Disco For Fish Tacos web site: http://www.kuci.org/~dbremmer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Cheerleading is my sport, Jesus is my life." Also, Brian will teach us the words and then lead a sing-along of his song "Space Disco For Fish Tacos." Be afraid, be very afraid.
