I'd still say my favorite scene musician ever was Dune/Orange (now brothomstates)... He really inspired me to get into writing music, especially crazy IDM stuff... Check out the music to "megablast" sometime and you'll see why... dune/orange provided the BEST musical accompaniment for the BEST small pc demos. it was absolutely amazing how high-quality their demos were for 64k/128k, etc.. their large demos were cool too. but god damn, dune rocked. check out the robot series. reoklasic, etc.. oh yeah, remember karl? karl == bogdan? for some reason that factoid sticks out in my mind, is it right? ok, -eric --- eric sherman              octorock@doubtful.com doubtful productions      www.doubtful.com -----Original Message----- From: atomly <atomly@atomly.com> To: idm@hyperreal.org Date: Fri, 28 Jan 2000 11:48:35 -0600 (CST) Subject: Re: (idm) Demo Scene (was Attjazz)

I guess u mean Funckarma on Clone records? Excellent produced complex electronics, bit like Ae/funkstoerung but very much they're own style. Great freaky sounds, melancholic strings, direct (mostly downtempo or ultrafast (depends how u listen 2 it) beats, weird rhythms, Great stuff IMO, recommended! check it @ http://clone.nl or http://hotmix.net Olaf

I was wondering if anyone has had much experience with either cable or dsl that they're willing to share with those of us considering making the great bandwidth leap. Thanks. DSL lays on top of an existing phone line so you can phone/fax/surf with the one line; in addition megabit speeds are variable. Cable doesn't have telephony features, it's just a pipe to the internet. Obviously there are more differences, this is just off the top of my head. I am scheduled to have DSL service installed in my office in about two weeks so I will know more then. In general, I would go with DSL. Though cable can rock, it's hit and miss depending on a lot of variables. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@cyrus.net http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly [CELL|(888)522.3830] | [CELL|(701)729.1631] | [HOME|(651)748.8676] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
