DSL lays on top of an existing phone line so you can phone/fax/surf
with the one line; in addition megabit speeds are variable. Cable
doesn't have telephony features, it's just a pipe to the internet.
Obviously there are more differences, this is just off the top of my
head. I am scheduled to have DSL service installed in my office in
about two weeks so I will know more then.
