ACK! This whole thread about colleges is making me feel like the over-the-hill old man that I am. The time that I looked at and applied to colleges was back in the fall of 1986 (and just in case you can't do the math and figure out how old that makes me, my 28th birthday was just two days ago). Am I too old to be here? I fled an indie-rock chat room on the Web called the Cutie Club for the same reason (i.e. I felt too old to fit in). Should I leave here and just stick to the DroneOn and Bomp! mailing lists (both of which have a significant over-25 contingent)? Seriously, what would you say the approximate age range is for listeners of IDM music? And do you think there's a growing "generation gap" between fans of guitar-based rock and electronic dance music, as some people seem to suspect (i.e. guitar rock='20s and over, electronica=college age and under)? I'll tell you one thing, though... even if you do call me too old, I still won't give up my FSOL and Meat Beat Manifesto CDs! - John On Sun, 5 Oct 1997, chris r graves wrote:
