Dammit, nobody ever claimed that PLUR was a strict spiritual regime! The person who started this whole thing off by signing of with "PLUR" I'm sure, didn't mean to start off a flame war. Many people on this list (I'm guessing here) have been to a few raves in their younger years. If I had been born five or ten years earlier than I was, I certainly would have done. The original posting was a genuine and respectful request for information. It's really sad that the people on this list have nothing better to do than nit-pick over each other's grammar, and the turn of phrase that they use. To use an analogy (Ron!) if someone writes you a letter and signs off at the end with "love", are you seriously gonna write back to them and ask them why the fuck they wrote "love" at the end of their letter, and tell them that "love" is an outdated hippy concept which nobody believes in anymore. Perhaps this is true for many people, but I still believe in love, in peace, in unity, and in respect. These are fundamental concepts that allow us as humans to interact with each other in a productive way. A lot of people on this list score zero out of four for their postings. Aggression, nit-picking, and name-calling are taking over here and something has to be done. If somebody signs a message with "love", they are wishing you love. If it's "good luck!" then they're merely wishing you good luck in the future. The same with "PLUR". Would you rather your friends wrote you letters which ended with "rot in hell, you cunt"? I'm not gonna preach to you anymore, I'm sure I've given enough people enough flamebait to keep them going for weeks. Just read through your posting before you hit that send button and think about how useful it'll be to unload your bad feelings on everyone else. The concept is often thrown around like one.

I didn't read most of the thread, just the one I responded to. I didn't see any flame war, fill me on the details.

Why are you too old now? How old are you?

Welcome to the list. Quite often people don't answer the concept or intent of a post, but instead try to find something wrong with a sentence to respond to. Happens everyday, my eyes don't water over it anymore

If I don't know them or have some sort of relationship with them, maybe. I would not take anyone seriously that says they love me because I am at a rave, or on the idm list, or because I like a certain style of tea. I would think there was something wrong with them, or that they were full of piss.

Love between someone you know..sure Peace sure Unity? --- To what? Strangers? A party? A dj spinning? Respect? --- It's something you earn. Not something you automatically receive. The fact that everyone feels like that just because they are under the umbrella of a rave (away from the cold cruel world), I don't think so.

So does greed.

Haha...he's keeping score.

Tell that to all the people that have been swindled under the pretense of love. Sorry I was never a hippy. I would be suspicious if I didn't know the person well, and even then I would wonder...he/she probably wants something

Good Luck sounds fine.

If they were Scottish beer drinking mates it would be fine.

Hi Lisa Lisa, where are the Cult Jam these days? How are you doing?
quoted 1 line all i wanted was help w/info about throwing a little event...>all i wanted was help w/info about throwing a little event...
I remember. I didn't not criticize you for that, did I? No. If you wanted my opinion (which I'm sure you don't), I would say IDM isn't the best place to ask...because there are MANY rave related lists. And I would start asking questions locally especially with djs, record stores, other promoters, etc. I think it's really a locally based question, because the laws & enforcement, and many other factors depend on where you are.
quoted 2 lines i signed my email w/ "PLUR"... so to everyone that couldn't handle >that>i signed my email w/ "PLUR"... so to everyone that couldn't handle >that or >didn't know what do do with it so they had to insult me, >sorry.
It's a BS cliche that isn't really true, and often said by young candy kids. I don't think it offended anyone, but there was a lot sarcasm as a result of it. I only jumped in after a few other posts. I don't think raves are a unique place where everyone loves each other. Maybe it might be induced by chemicals but it isn't real.
quoted 2 lines i probably won't post here after today. i am too insulted. i have >been>i probably won't post here after today. i am too insulted. i have >been >part of this list on & off for a few years now.
If you have indeed been on this list for a few years, you should have seen a lot of sarcasm regarding plur in the past. I have
quoted 1 line and this truly makes me not want to come back.>and this truly makes me not want to come back.
If you feel so strongly to Plur, that you can't handle comments or sarcasms against it or the raver stereotype on MDMA with pacifiers, then bon voyage. Cleanse yourself of the nasty world by going to a rave where the almost Disney purity of love is present engrossing all of those that enter the rave.
quoted 2 lines ron, thank you for understanding and not taking offense or having to insult>ron, thank you for understanding and not taking offense or having to insult >my statement for whatever reason.
No offense was taken by me. Sorry if my comments shattered your world. If raves are SO PLUR, then why do people need to take drugs at them. I would think if you felt such love, unity, respect for yourself, and there was good music, then there would be no need to take drugs. There would be no need for chemical diversions. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
