Dammit, nobody ever claimed that PLUR was a strict spiritual regime! The
person who started this whole thing off by signing of with "PLUR" I'm sure,
didn't mean to start off a flame war. Many people on this list (I'm guessing
here) have been to a few raves in their younger years. If I had been born
five or ten years earlier than I was, I certainly would have done. The
original posting was a genuine and respectful request for information. It's
really sad that the people on this list have nothing better to do than
nit-pick over each other's grammar, and the turn of phrase that they use.
To use an analogy (Ron!) if someone writes you a letter and signs off at the
end with "love", are you seriously gonna write back to them and ask them why
the fuck they wrote "love" at the end of their letter, and tell them that
"love" is an outdated hippy concept which nobody believes in anymore.
Perhaps this is true for many people, but I still believe in love, in peace,
in unity, and in respect. These are fundamental concepts that allow us as
humans to interact with each other in a productive way. A lot of people on
this list score zero out of four for their postings. Aggression,
nit-picking, and name-calling are taking over here and something has to be
done. If somebody signs a message with "love", they are wishing you love. If
it's "good luck!" then they're merely wishing you good luck in the future.
The same with "PLUR". Would you rather your friends wrote you letters which
ended with "rot in hell, you cunt"?
I'm not gonna preach to you anymore, I'm sure I've given enough people
enough flamebait to keep them going for weeks. Just read through your
posting before you hit that send button and think about how useful it'll be
to unload your bad feelings on everyone else.
Stevie.
