Hey kids! Instead of posting your fave AFX tunes, why not post your favorite filters for this list! Here's mine: if (subject = "past personal music history") then delete if (subject = "subscribe") then delete if (subject = "Vinyl vs Cd") then delete if (subject = "RSW") then delete if (subject = "Musical roots") then delete if (subject = "race/gender") then delete if (subject = "info on TVT / Wax Trax please") then delete if (subject = "FYI.rBGH") then delete if (subject = "Ages of the Sons and Daughters of Intelligent Dan") then delete if (subject = "Humour Has Left The Building") then delete -- Brian "Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a terminal prognosis."

The list is all pretty funny, so fine I won't repeat it. Except can I ask a few mild flame questions?

Does he mean Renegade Sound Wave? Am I missing something? I dig RSW.

Hey come on without the history of house where would "techno" be?

Maybe the stuff is all liscensed but is it not good? Is it not cheaper than paying import prices? Who can possibly go aout and buy EVERY cool release they want? A few good rereleases domestically to relieve the pocketbook is OK. Isn't it? I've been in it for too long to believe the "preserve our underground" hobnob. (boy am I going to get it for saying that one) I'll let it rest by saying one thing. The further exposure any scene gets: the more music available, the more cash flow to feed the existence of the scene, and the more experimental the true "underground" becomes. The real underground will never fear commercialism. -robert

Doing quite well, actually. Check the alt.rave FAQ -- this is something that's been rehashed quite often: techno did not "descend" from house, and you'll annoy quite a few Detroiters if you insist otherwise... ----------------------------------------------------------------- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@msen.com freeke robot luv
