Nights of Pan is pretty good (not great, but good). It's got this electronic acidy feel to it. The CD and the Vinyl are different, though, which is really annoying, since some of the best tunes are only (?) availible on the CD. "A Night On E" is a really long acidy tune. I get kinda annoyed by the voice sample that whispers "Ecstacy" in the background (kinda tired sample, y'know). However, the Nights of Pan have the kind of style where that sample fits. . . One more annoying thing about "A Night..." is that the bpm changes, so it's really hard to mix, unless you just play parts of it. I'll get back to ya later on the X-102 and X-103 projects (can't remember offhand which is which. . . there are some different 12" and albums with almost the same name)

Coil has such a great range that there is almost literally something for everyone. I need to know what kind of a sound you are looking for. Old school industrial? ambient? dancier techno? weirdness? drone? Ebola np: Skinny Puppy

I just recently bought Manual-Until Tomorrow and Freescha-Kids Fill The Floor and I absolutely must recommend them. Manual. I admit that I'm a huge Morr Music fan, and that is the primary reason that I bought this release. And when I first put it on, I sort of thought I was going to be in for standard Morr sounds, but as I listened longer and harder, it got better and better. Lots of interesting sounds weaving in and out of the standard crunchin' melody -- drums and guitars and keyboards and a buncha shit i couldn't identify. It still has its dull or run of the mill moments, but its also still growing on me, and I would recommend it to any Morr Music fan, especially one who's looking for something a little different. Freescha. This has gotten plenty of airtime here already, so I won't go on and on. But GODDAMN, as soon as I put this on I was happy. The BoC comparisons I felt like were a bit off -- it may similar in style but it seems so much different in attitude and tone. But that could just be me. Basically I wanted to throw in my 2 cent recommendation for pretty much anyone to pick this one up. Beautiful stuff. Other recent purchases: Thai Elephant Orchestra, optimistically I would say that everyone on this list should be able to appreciate this. It blew me away. Autumnature, another grower, but its working on me. Last track (from lexaunculpt) is stunningly gorgeous. I've been really fascinated by Venetian Snares lately. He really has something I can't pin down that makes his music stand out from the run-of-the-mill drill & bass hardcore noise crowd. He seems in a lot of cases to have left behind any sort of steady meter and gone into free jazz territory. While that sort of crazy splatter-painting approach can just sound confusing and irritating, he always seems to make something that holds together on it's own terms and put across some feeling to the listener. And I'm continually surpised when I listen, even though the broad detail of his methods are not that mysterious. http://www.planet-mu.com/artist21.html Along similar lines, look for stuff by Stuntrock. Stuntrock, who released a split with V.Snares a long while back, is a favorite son of the whole midwest breaks/noise/grindcore son, who is continually inventive and hilarious. BIlly hasn't really been discovered pre se and isn't very ambitious so his stuff is much harder to track down, but worth it. Particularly a CD called 'Regret' is mindbogglingly cool.
