Hey, via some list related kindness I'm listening to some old Deviation sessions from the edge of the universe in South Dakota. Benji B. played a track from an artist named "Thomas Filman" - I'm not sure how you spell it. He's German, does anyone know who this is? Thomas Fehlman IIRC... he did some work with Alex Paterson (The Orb) as well as with Fripp, Paterson, et. al. as "FFWD". I've also got a 12" he was involved in as "Fischermans Friend"... That's all *I* know anyway :) john.. -- http://www.iwari.com/ http://www.minimism.com/ --- Quoting David Seruyange <idmkid@yahoo.com>:

Mr Fehlmann has been around for quite some time, with many, many great releases of his own and hands involved in The Orb and some knob twiddling with the likes of Sun Electric, to name a few. He was a member of the seminal Palais Schaumberg, the likes of which has given us Holger Hiller, Moritz Von Oswald (1/2 of Maurizio, Rhythm & Sound, Basic Channel stuffs, etc.). While I'm off on this tangent, an unsung hero of proto-IDM is Holger Hiller. If you can pick up the CD which combines Oben Im Eck and Ein Bundel Faulnis In Der Grube, I'd highly recommend it. jeff -------------- Original message --------------

another member of palais schaumburg was Frank Martin Strauss aka F.M.Einheit, also member of Einstürzende Neubauten until the mid-90ies. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Do a search for "Thomas Fehlmann" at http://www.kompakt-mp3.net/ , it'll turn up a lot of what he's released on Kompakt and associated labels with a preview listening opportunity to boot. He's also released a new album, "Lowflow" on Plug Research recently. I guess http://www.discogs.com/artist/Thomas+Fehlmann could help a bit, too... :) -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: Sage Francis - Lie Detector Test (A Healthy Distrust) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

http://www.discogs.com/release/338329 The Lowflow album is highly recommended. One of my favorite recent purchases. Check the link above for tracklisting and read the comments for a user opinion.
